Closing Out 2008

OK, before we get to what we've been doing in 2009, let's tell you about the last few things we did in 2008. For a class fundraiser the Juniors blew up balloons at the Hyatt for their New Years Eve party...2,200 balloons! They had a pretty cool set up, so it wasn't that bad...guess that's easy for me to say, I didn't blow up one balloon. :) Hey, I had to work. But the kids had a great time and they earned some phat cash.

Here is the view from the ground floor...that's 20 floors up! busy busy busy!!!
They were working on both sides of the nets...very scary!! I did get to go see their work...more about that later...
Here is a view from the 20th floor, through the net, down to the ground...my toes are getting quivery just looking at this picture!!
NIGHT AT THE HYATT!

OK, so since we were the only people up on that floor...because of the nets, we got to stay in one of the rooms...this was a Monday night...so I still had to go to work the next morning. I live 1.5 miles from my work, so to have to drive from downtown...I had to wake up a lot earlier! But it was worth it, the kids had a blast!!

I was trying to get a picture out the window...yeah...that didn't work so well.
So here are a few pictures of the "suite". The main bedroom connected to this huge room, and they brought the boys roll away beds, which they loved, the plasma TV in the room may have had something to do with it...
They have the plasma TV, but they are watching the little portable DVD players...go figure.
Just having a good time!! We walked over to the Circle Center Mall for a little shopping and dinner, then back to the hotel for swimming!!!
This is a picture from the pool...i thought this was cool picture...if i do say so myself. :) They've always gotta be at each other...and that's Price's toosh.
Here's Bobby checking out his Pacer tickets for the next evening...more about that later...

PACER GAME!!

OK, so because Bobby bought their team shoes from Dicks Sporting Goods, they sent us some really great tickets, and a parking pass as a thank you. So we took the boys back downtown again and had a great time.HOOSIERS BY BIRTH!
Alright, I know it's hard to tell...but that guy behind the backboard is Larry Bird...really...look closely at the picture below.Told ya so... HA HA HAAA...I was laughing so hard when i took a better look at this picture, you can see his face right in the square (I'm sure there's a technical name for it...but I wouldn't know it.) You should be able to click on this picture and open it up to a new window and it will be larger. His head is smack dab in the middle of that square!
It was a good game, even though the Pacers lost...

Christmas 2008

We had a great Christmas! God has been so good to our family. Not because of the "things" we have, but because he loved us enough to send His only Son to die for us. It's because of Him, we celebrate! We can never out-give Him!

Chargers @ Conseco Field House

Tuesday, December 23rd the Chargers played after the Pacer game. The weather was atrocious! Ice, ice, and more ice. The bus wouldn't start, and if it did...I don't think they would have gotten it out of the parking spot! So regardless we all carpooled and made our way downtown. The Pacer game was good, but the Chargers were better :) The kids love going down below where all the "important" people get to go. The night ended in a win for the Chargers bringing our record to 9-0!!

2008 HOOSIER HOLIDAY CLASSIC CHAMPS!

Congratulations to the Chargers for their 3rd win in the HHC! This year was extra special because we hosted a team from Sydney, Australia. They only spent four days with us and by the time the left we were all crying because we were going to miss them so much! It's amazing how attached you can get to perfect strangers in just four days. We will never forget them.
