CHARGER NIGHT 2008

Friday night was out annual Charger Night and Chili Supper. We have had our chili supper for about 12 years now, at least. It is always a great fundraiser for the cheerleaders. It was a great day for the kids, they started the day off with a pep rally at 8:00 a.m. a little early for screaming and yelling, but that's how we do it. Our supper started at 5:00, games started at 5:30 and we didn't get home until about 11:00!! Talk about a looooong day!!

PEP RALLY
CHILI SUPPER
Not exactly sure how Abby seems to get in every picture :) She's the red-head...but she should be a blonde! :) But she is presch.
Workin' hard...
Practicing in the old gym before our game...
Shoulder sits, yeah baby, taking everything back old school. For those of you alumni cheerleaders that see this...we brought back the "C" and a few oldie but goodie cheers. We actually have four shoulder sits, but i couldn't back up any further!Bobby was giving a "short" speech right before we unveiled the new State Championship banner!!
Here they are doing my favorite cheer...it has blades! :) But why we have a few girls doing something different is beyond me...but that's what Charger Night is for...to work out the kinks.

Upward Cheer Clinic

This past Saturday Jenn and I took the girls to a church in town and helped them with their cheer clinic. There were about 60 little girls, and they just thought our squad was the best thing they've ever seen. They were so precious!! Our girls did a great job and were so good with the little ones. Towards the end the two seniors were giving their testimony and they were leading into a salvation message. They started out with being best friends, then they talked about parents, then Lauryn asked "Who loves us more than our parents?" And of course the girls were raising their hands, not even know what the question was or what they were going to say if called on, but finally she got to one little girl and her answer was "God, Jesus....and Joseph." It was the cutest thing ever. I laughed the rest of the day on that one...precious...

Teaching basics.
Group Photo!
Gettin' Crazy!
Here they are during snack time...they couldn't get close enough!

We had a little stunting time with the little ones, hysterical!

After the clinic we went to Jenns to work on the girls' binders. So much info...

VeggieTales Program

The boys had their first school program this year. The theme was VeggieTales. I loved it because the boys used to watch those all the time when they were little. You can see Lara the Carrot, Pa Grape, Jimmy & Jerry Gourd, and obviously Bob and Larry!!
Price is in the back, just singing away :)And there's Zeke...oh, and Madame Blueberry! And don't forget those cute little French Peas :)And the happy family :)

CHARGER BONFIRE

Saturday night we had our annual Winter Sports Bonfire! We could not have asked for better weather!! Normally we are so bundled up we can hardly move! It was about 70 degrees that day and the evening was awesome. Thanks to the Kirby's for opening up their home to us again! Here are some pictures from the evening...

Here is Zeke, in Matthew's room. He had been sick (and still is) so he played Playstation most of the night. I'd catch him every now and then outside...with no shoes, just his socks!!! He actually got sick on the way home, and as I type this on Sunday morning, I had to bring him home from church, he got sick as soon as we got there :( He's doing OK right now...we're watching Garfield II to pass the time.
Here is Price shooting some hoops in Matthews room...he kept Zeke company most of the time. He's a good big brother.
Most of the adults and kids were playing football...Bobby thought he was Tony Romo!
Here was out uninvited guest...Abby :) She just came gallopping over from the neighbors, and the kids were out playing football. One of the littler ones wasn't paying attention and then as soon as the dog got up to him he about had a heat attack!
She was getting lots of lovin's from everyone.
We've always got to be stunting :) (if all of our girls were there we'd have three stunt groups!! woo hooo!!!)
Here are a few of the girls. Now that they're getting older most of the older ones had to work :( Jenn also wasn't there because they were at a wedding. What you can tell in this picture is that Alyssa (the one in yellow) is crying because when we went up to elevators in the picture above, she pulled one of her quad muscles...an odd injury :( But when it's time for pictures, the girl can smile!
He we are later in the evening around the bonfire :)
I'm not even going to tell you why they are laughing so hard here...
Here is Bobby and Matt Ellis...looking tough!
And here is our bonfire!
Everyone sneeking back to the barn for more dessert!
Not sure...
Caylea & Jordan just hanging out.

Acapulco Joe's

Danielle was one of our CCA staffers this summer. Her and her family were in town so we went to dinner at Acapulco Joe's, it is a little hole in the wall place, but it is so yummy!! We took the CCA staff to dinner here this summer, so when Danielle came back, we went again. When the staff stayed with us this summer the boys fell in love with them, Zeke was a little disappointed that Danielle's family was with her, he thought he was going to get her all to himself ;) As you can tell the boys love her, they couldn't stand still for a photo!!
We had to hold on to them to keep them still!!
I can't believe we even got them to stand still for this one!
We kicked the boys out at this point and just got a picture of us :)

Soccer Awards!

Well another sports season has come to a close...thank the Lord!! :) NO, I'm just kidding, although the weather is a little cold now for soccer, so I'm glad that we've moving indoors. The boys improved so much this season, it's fun to watch them grow and learn new things...even though they think they know it all already! Here are a few pictures of the last day and their awards.

SIGN LANGUAGE

The Cheerleaders, Jenn and I performed sign language on Sunday "Friend Day". The song is Completely by Ana Laura, it is from the movie Facing the Giants, which I can't recommend enough! This song was the theme song for cheer camp.

This was Bobby's first time to run the video :) We learned that when you zoom in or out...it cuts out the sound. Note to self...
